The Space Journal 1: words and other ways of doing it

Attention: writers, fighters, authors [auteurs], poets, know-it-alls, painters, sculptors, philosophers, inkers, thinkers, filmmakers, risktakers, photographers, all manner of broken-hearted and lonely artists deep-frying in the DC sun and elsewhere floundering and foundering, struggling and holding on, waiting, waiting tables, selling orphans, smiling through false teeth, pouring gin and tonics and sazeracs, lying through those teeth, punching in, and punching out, wanting more but seeing nothing, lost in a maze of white oxfords or stylish tie-clips, interning, externing, returning (home to mom), perusing every page of craigslist for a chance connection with the mothership or something close, running on empty, losing weight, gaining weight, choosing a liquid diet, choosing poverty, choosing life, parrying questions about life goals, not really knowing what that means, desperate, comfortable, uncomfortable, young, dumb, drunk or sober, incapable or unable or perfectly adjusted
